History of the site
This site opened in April 2008, after the movie Les Choristes. Maintained, since then, by admirers of Jean-Baptiste, it became official on March, 7th 2005 thanks to the trust and the support brought by Jean-Baptiste and his parents.
On July 9th 2005, the association was created. This non-profit making association aims only at financing this website. Our main goal is to pay the dedicated server to host this website. The associative status allows us, with the help of all our subscribers, to organize some competitions, meetings, ...
The association is ruled by three members: Midian (President), Nico (Secretary), Régis (Treasurer).
After a few migrations requested by the constant growing of this site and of the amount of visitors, we can provide you a stable website, fast without any major problems. Our little site became important, and this is thanks to you, dear readers and visitors, who come every day

General rules
- Respect Jean-Baptiste's private life.To this end it is forbidden to ask for personal information about him ( telephone number, e-mail address, postal address...etc ) whether it be on the Chat, the Forum or anywhere else on the site !!
- If you have problems with the audio or video files on the site, you have sound only and no picture, or the reverse, I cannot help all of you as I haven't the necessary time. Therefore would you please ask for help on the forum. It will be very useful for you. All you will need to do is to set out your exact problem, explain whether you have one or more error messages that come(s) up, etc......and to supply any information that will help to solve your problem..
- Politeness is obligatory on the site. A "hello" doesn't cost anything. Please avoid anything vulgar or insulting. Flooding is also banned. All of this is for the general good.
- It is forbidden to put up onthe site or on its sub-sections ( forum, chat, guest book...) any of your personal details such as your telephone number, address and so on.... Only e-mail addresses are acceptable. All this is for security reasons!
- Please respect the site. This means it is forbidden to extract material from the site to use elsewhere (on another site for example). The site enjoys copyright protection so please do not extract material without having previously asked my permission.

The site JBMaunier.net is henceforth the property of a non-profit making Association registered with the Puy-de Dome Prefecture (Official Bulletin of 9th July 2005).

Pourquoi avoir décidé de créer une Association ?
Firstly we wanted to make transparent all the financial activity linked with the site.
The constant increase in the number of visitors to the site and the volume of downloads no longer allowed us to use a free server for the site. Following a few days using a server who provided a shared service we were forced to change to a dedicated server; otherwise the site would have disappeared.
A short explanation for those who are unfamiliar with this : roughly speaking a shared server is a hard disc which accomodates several internet sites, whilst a dedicated server is a hard disc reserved exclusively for whovever rents it (in our case the association). The hirer of the dedicated server can use it for several sites or simply one, which is the case with us. The advantage of a dedicated server is that the entry and exit of information is, in our case, reserved for JBMaunier.net, whereas with a shared server all the information from all the sharing sites must pass through the same gateway. As a result for 3 or 4 days our site was taking up the whole gateway to the shared server and so blocking the other sites.
We therefore had no choice other than to rent a dedicated server (which also has various other advantages as well as that explained above), but the cost of which is relatively high (more than €80 a month).
To return to the reasons for creating the association. Following the last collection organised on the forum in order to finance this server, we realised that it was imperative to show/prove to you that we were acting honestly, and that the money with which you were entrusting us was solely for the use of the site. Also a private individual cannot receive donors' money to pay for the site without it being declared a business. A non-profit making association was therefore the only solution.
We are neither a business, nor a company nor a cash machine.
Being an association nevertheless enables everything to be transparent and allows all those who wish to ask questions to find the appropriate answers.
JBMaunier.net = TRANSPARENCY, HONESTY, SERIOUSNESS, STRAIGHTFORWARDNESS
Creating an association also allows the site to have sponsors or donors so as to partly or wholely finance the serving of the site anonymously and without compensation.
Finally, the association enables active supporters of the site to become members.
For a small sum (about €5) , which is in no way compulsory, you can help us to maintain and improve the site further, in particular by the purchase of new domain names (the .fr for example), through new and more powerful services, or by providing the prizes for the competitions ... and also paying for the general running of the site (bank charges, P.O. Box number... ).
All that needs thinking about and discussing so as to do what is best and to continue the same policy for the site : respect for one another and for Jean-Baptiste and his family.
I would repeat that our objective is not to make a particular profit, but to promote the site itself and, above all, to ensure its survival.
You will have noticed that a little button labelled "donations" has appeared at the bottom of the forum and on the site page.
This means that anyone who has a paypal account ( free to join and charge-free ), indispensable for safe purchases on e-bay for example, can help us by making a few clicks.. ( you can find other methods of payment in the association section of the forum ).
As with all associations under the 1901 law, we have a virtual general meeting each year so as to publish our accounts and to take stock of our activities. In effect the fact that we are an association permits the improvement of the site and makes it more secure from a legal point of view.
Remember that first and foremost the site is yours, and that this measure has your satisfaction as its objective.
