L'Auberge Rouge was released in cinemas in France on 5th December.
After one week, L'Auberge Rouge came third-top with 325,209 attendances in 582 cinemas. During the second week it will be
showing in 541 cinemas. Comments can be made on the forum.

The synopsis of the film is:
At the end of the 19th century the sinister Crouteux inn stood amid the wild mountains of the Pyrenees. The inn was run by
Martin and Rose, a pair of innkeepers who regularly used their deaf and dumb adopted son Violet to murder lone travellers so that they could rob them. One stormy evening the good Father Camus had in his care a young man that he was taking to a monastery way up in the mountains ...

The film has an Adams family type of humour.

The recent French TV appearances from "T'empêches tout le monde de dormir" and "Les enfants de la Télé" can be found in the videotheque.
Pictures from "Les enfants de la Télé" are in the pictures gallery.

JBMaunier.net is pleased to be able to let you know that Jean-Baptiste has just taken part in the making of a short film about the letter which Guy Moquet, a young man aged 17, wrote to his mother before he was shot on the 22nd of October 1941.

The screenplay was written by Francois Hanss ( "La Separation" with Claude Rich ) and will be shown on our screens on the anniversary of Guy Moquet's death.

Filming took place in Picardy between the 28th and the 31st of August, and you will soon be able to see exclusive photos of it here.

To remind you, here is the text of Guy's letter:

My dearest mother,
my much loved little brother,
my dear father.

I am going to die! What I ask of all of you, and especially of my little mother, is to be brave. I am, and I want to be just as brave as those who have gone before me. Of course I should like to live. But what I long for with all my heart is that my death should serve a purpose. I have not had the chance of a last embrace for Jean. I have been able to embrace my two brothers Roger and Rino. As for the truth, unfortunately I cannot manage it. I hope that all my things will be returned; they may be useful for Serge, who I count on being proud to wear them one day. Dear father , even though I have caused you and my little mother enough sadness, I send you my last greeting. Know that I have done my best to follow the way that you laid out for me.

A last farewell to all my friends and to my brother whom I love so much. I trust that he will study hard and become a true man.

17 1/2 years. My life has been short, but I have no regrets except to be leaving you. I am going to die with Tintin and Michels. Mother, what I ask above all, what I want you to promise me, is to be brave and to overcome your grief.

I cannot write any more. I leave you all, mother, Serge, father, with all the love of my child's heart. Have courage!

Your Guy who loves you so much

Guy

Final thought: You who we leave behind, be worthy of us, the 27 who are going to die!
